Does dairy really cause acne? Absolutely not!

Quite the opposite actually. Dairy is one of the few sources of Vitamin A in the Modern Westernized diet and crucial for controlling sebum production. That is why applying Retinol and Retinoids topically works so well for certain types of acne.

But if that is the case then why do so many experience breakouts after eating dairy?

Those people have a digestive problem that needs addressing. And possibly some other nutritional imbalances that need addressing as well. Some people have multiple foods that trigger acne. Personally I would have been left with chicken, white bread, and fruit if I was to exclude everything that triggered me. But by taking pancreatic enzymes all foods became edible without triggering acne. Though this doesnt mean you can have a free for all on sugars and salts. Those you still have to be mindful of with regard to how much you consume on a day to day basis. In a small percentage of sufferers, more extreme measures will be needed to address digestive function. Such as supplementation of stomach acid in addition to pancreatic enzymes. These individuals commonly have diagnosed autoimmune inflammatory conditions. But even among this subgroup enzyme supplementation is usually enough.
