Several decades ago a few researches hypothesized that OCD compulsions stemmed from too much oxidative stress on the brain. Their proposed solution was to give a well known and well used amino acid known as NAC. When taken NAC it forces the liver to kick out a lot of glutathione, a master antioxidant. This calms the oxidative stress in your brain and throughout your body. For myself and many others it has worked amazingly well. This is the same stuff that will be given in the Emergency Room to treat Tylenol poisoning (acetaminophen/paracetamol) It is also used to treat a variety of other ailment and is available over the counter. Typical doses in the studies were 600-2000mg a day. Personally at a 1200mg dose I experienced about a 75% reduction in my urge to pick. At an 1800mg dose it was like someone flipped a switch in my head and I didnt skin pick any more. I discontinued use after about 4 months and the picking never came back.


When ordering supplements look for a brand with good reviews like NOW or Swanson. All supplements are not created equal. And no you cant just take glutathione, it degrades too much in the digestive tract.
