What happens to the pus in unpopped pimples?

There is a lot of dogma out there when it comes to acne, medicine in general really.

The pus will eventually come out or be reabsorb. It can also just sit there and become calcified as the years drag on or turn brown/black from oxidation. If you are feeling something under your skin, a small mass below the pus. That is likely a malformed hair follicle. Until that is cleared the pore will continue to fill with pus. Purchase an extractor for this job, find the direction of the pore and apply pressure from behind the opening. You will need a magnifying mirror to find the direction of the pore to successfully accomplish this. Some pimples need to be popped, like the ones Ive just described. Smaller types of acne, not containing a malformed hair follicle will resolve on their own if you dont mess with them. As for scarring. Self extraction leading to scarring is more medical dogma. Scarring can occur whether you pop or not it just depends on how deep into the dermis the infection goes and if you are in the sun a lot.
